3 Night 4 Day Chandrashila Trek Tour

Head on to the most beautiful region of Deoriatal, Tunganath and Chandrashila Summit, situated in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand and considered as one of the most attractive trails for beginners. The base for this trek is Chopta which is a high altitude meadow also known as mini Switzerland. The Tungnath temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva is the highest Shiva Temple at an altitude of about 3680 meters, about 4 Kms steep climb from Chopta. Further climb 1 Km to reach Chandrashilla summit at an elevation of about 4100 meters, Chandrashila is the rocks above the Tunganath temple also known by the name of Moon Rock, It’s from here you get to witness a panoramic 360 degrees view of the very majestic Himalayan peaks including Nanda Devi, Bandarpunch, Chaukhamba and Kedar Peak and the moment is amazing as you stand for the heavenly experience of nature in its purest form and that priceless breath of fresh mountain air. This region is also a favorite paradise for bird watchers with abundance of birds of rare species. Deoriatal is a little away from Chopta on the Chopta-aUkhimath route, a little detour takes you to Village Sari from where it’s a short hike of 3 Kms, Deoriatal is famous as it is one of the most beautiful lakes located at end of trek which passes through dense forest cover. This lake is an epitome of natural beauty as one can see in it reflection of mighty Himalayan peaks of Chaumukha and Neelkanth.

Deoriatal, Tunganath and Chandrashila summit is one of the popular treks for beginers and is open all year long and easy connectivity. The base camp for this trek is Chopta which is alpine grassland and is about 230 Kms from Rishikesh. The route from Rishikesh goes past Devprayag – Srinagar – Rudraprayag – Ukhimath and to Chopta which is our base camp. Chopta to Tunganath and Chandrashilla summit is a well laid steep trail of about 4 Kms and passes through small meadows lined by thick forest. Village Sari is at a short distance from Chopta, it’s from here we take the short hike of about 3 Kms to reach Deoriatal.
