Mussoorie popularly known as the Queen of Hills is a popular hill station known for scenic view of snow capped mountain peaks of the Himalayas, modern bungalows, mall road, well-laid gardens, nature walks and overlooking the majestic Doon valley. There are several intriguing tourist locations like Company Garden, Kempty Falls, Gun Hill, Camel’s back road, Jharipani Falls, Mall Road, Bhatta Falls. Sisters Bazar, Landour and nearby towns of Dhanaulti, Kanatal and Tehri.
Rishikesh is called as yoga capital of India is the getaway to Chardham. Its also a popular adventure tourist spot with sports such as bungee jumping and white water rafting. There are many popular places specially Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhoola both are iron suspension bridge across the river Ganges, Triveni Ghat and Parmarth Niketan.
Auli, also known as Auli Bugyal is considered as an amazing hill station and important ski destination located at an elevation of 2,500 metres to 3,050 metres in the Himalayan Mountains of Uttarakhand. This small hill town is renowned for the fascinating ski resorts bordered by coniferous and oak forests and is blessed with breathtaking views of mountain ranges like Nanda Devi, Mana Parvat and Kamet. Auli also boasts the Asia's longest cable car - stretching to a distance of 4 km and Chair Lift and a Ski-Lift which takes people to higher slopes is the key attraction.
Badrinath along with Yamunotri, Gangotri and Kedarnath form the Chota Char Dham, one of the important pilgrimages for Hindus cradled in the Nar-Narayan mountain ranges of Uttarakhand. The temple is located along the banks of Alaknanda River at an elevation of 3,133 meters and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, who is worshipped as Badrinath. The temple remains covered in snow for over six months and during this period the deity is shifted to Joshimath. There are many attractions like Tapt Kund, a group of hot sulphur springs just below the temple, Mana village, better known as the ‘last Indian village is about 3 Kms from the temple along with other attractions like Vasudhara Falls, Bhim Pul and Vyas Gufa. Badrinath is also the getaway to trek to Satopanth Lake.
Kausani is a picturesque hill station famous for its scenic splendor and its spectacular view of 300 km-wide panoramic view of the Himalayas including Trishul, Nanda Devi, Nandakot and Panchchuli peaks and can be viewed from most part of the town. Popular spots to visit in Kausani are Rudradhari Fall which is about 12 km from Kausani, Baijnath at around 20 km from Kausani and Kausani tea Estate.
Ranikhet also known as ‘Queen Meadows’ is about 60 Kms from Nainital. This is a cantonment town surrounded by oak and pine trees with calm and serene beauty. Ranikhet offers great views of the lofty Himalayas and is known for its sunrise and sunset. Other places to visit are War Memorial, Himalaya View Point, Chaubatia Garden, Golf Ground, Jhula Devi temple and Kalika Temple.
Nainital is one of the most charismatic hill station built around a uniquely shaped lake known as the 'Naini Lake which is a popular spot for various activities such as paddle boating and row boating. Its also called as a lake city with other surrounding lakes at Bhimtal, Sattal, and Naukuchiatal and Khurpatal Lake. There are many other tourist spots like Nainital Mall Road, Nainital Zoo, Eco cave Garden, Naina Devi Temple, Snow View Point, Tiffin Top, Naina Peak and nearby town of Pangot.
Jim Corbett National Park is the Project Tiger Reserve and the oldest national park in India established in 1936. Corbett National Park has been divided into five different zones. These are Bijrani Safari Zone, Jhirna Safari Zone, Dhela Safari Zone, Dhikala Zone, Durga Devi Zone and Sitabani Buffer Zone. Dhikala is the largest and most varied zone in Corbett because of its superb location and hard core wildlife experience. Jeep Safari and Elephant safari in Jim Corbett are some of the most exciting activities.
Haridwar also known as Hari-Ka-Dwar is a spiritual town on the bank of holy river Ganges and is famous for its Ghats and Ganga Aarti at 'Har Ki Pauri'. Also reffered as Gateway to God, this town has many spritual places like Pawan Dham, Daksh Temple, Chandi Devi and Mansa Devi temple; both can be reached by a ropeway.
